No monthly or annual subscription fees are required.
What if I need a spreadsheet not listed in gPOS?
We can quote your custom spreadsheets. Fill out our request and send us a sample.
Can I share the spreadsheets with specific individuals and not
others?
If you're using Google Docs to host the spreadsheets, Google makes it easy to share
your spreadsheets with anyone that has a valid email address. You can also easlity
remove anyone from the share list.
Can I send gPOS mobile phone notifications after meal periods
to specific managers and owners?
Yes, its easy to send anyone with a cell phone, text messages from gPOS that shows
sales, labor dollars, costs, guest counts etc.
Do the spreadsheets show historical data?
All the spreadsheets will show historical data in a variety of formats (daily, month
to date, year to date etc.)
Can I change the spreadsheets to see how my sales and costs are
affected?
You can modify the spreadsheets anyway you want.
Can I use the spreadsheets with Microsoft Excel or OpenOffice?
gPOS is fully compatible with Micosoft Excel and Open Office spreadsheet formats.
Do the spreadsheets have formulas or are they only values?
gPOS maintains formulas throughout the spreadsheets which can be very useful if
you want to see how sales, labor dollars, promo dollars etc affect your overall
profitability.
Do I need a Google Account?
You don't have to have a Google account, but you will not be able to see the spreadsheets
on-line without one. Getting a Google account is easy and best of all its FREE!
Do I need assistance to install the free trial?
We've made it very easy to install gPOS. Once you have signed up with Google, install
gPOS and refer to the How To Get Started in the help file.
How does my Aloha data get to Google Docs?
gPOS reads your Aloha grind and DBF files, organizes the data and then communicates
with Google to upload the data to your spreadsheets.
What ports on firewall need to be open?
gPOS does not require any custom ports. Only outgoing http and https protocols are
used.
Can I upload historical data and how far back?
You can upload as far back as you have Aloha dated sub folders - years if you want.
Can I install on a different computer than the pos server?
You can install gPOS anywhere a PC has access to the Aloha dated sub folders.
Is gPOS PCI compliant?
gPOS is PCI compliant in that there are no custom ports required. gPOS uses the
standard http and https protocols for outgoing communications to your Google Docs
account. In addition, gPOS does not read any card holder data. It uses the easy
to read Aloha DBF files for its data source.
Can you work with SharePoint?
We can work with Sharepoint if you'd rather use that than Google Docs. Drop us an
email and we can quote a price.
Can I email the spreadsheets automatically?
We currently do not have an auto emailer in gPOS, but its easy from within your
Google docs to email the spreadsheets to anyone.
What if a day is missing on a report, how do I get the data back?
Usually if you wait a day, it will show. If for some reason the internet was down,
or your PC was off, you could miss a day, but gPOS will pick up where it left off
and send up the days data. In addition, if you launch gPOS on the desk top, you
can simply hit the upload to Google button to refresh the data in the spreadsheets.
What if I forgot my Google login?
Google makes it easy to retrieve your login and password. Go to Google and click
on the forgot my password link.
What if I need support? How do I contact you and how much will
it cost?
When you purchase gPOS, you receive 12 months of unlimited email support and updates.
After 12 months you can sigh up for continued email support and updates for $100
annually.
Do I need Microsoft Excel loaded in order to use gPOS or have gPOS
create spreadsheets?
No, you do not need to have a copy of Micrsoft Excel, or Microsoft Office to use
gPOS.
